NIGER DELTA JOINT REVOLUTIONARY COUNCIL WARNS GOV. DICKSON TO PAY SALARIES OR FACE CONSEQUENCES

  1. There is fresh tension in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State, following a strong worded Press Release addressed to the governor of the State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson  by a Militant Group which name was given as Joint Revolutionary Council {JRC} directing the governor to pay a backlog of salaries owed workers by his Restoration administration or face dire consequences.
  2. The body which said, it did not come into existence to shed blood, frowned at the state government for failing to pay salaries of workers at the state and local government councils and pensioners for more than a year and months, observed with concern that the none payment of the workers was giving untold hardship to the people, which according to them is a primary objective of government which Dickson aught not to fail in view of the fact that the monthly allocation of fund into the state treasury has been coming and he had no excuse not to pay.
  3. The JRC's position is that full salaries of the two tiers of government, the state and local government councils and of pensioners be paid to them without further delay. They warned against none compliance, delay and or payment of half salaries or half of half salaries, and  emphasized that the backlog of salaries be cleared before the end of this month.
